If you are really paying attention, I mean REALLY listening to yourself during this holiday season, you will hear a small voice speaking truth. It is your truth and undeniable. Yet, it gets the "bums rush", as my nephew used to say, because what it has to say is NOT what you WANT to hear.
That voice, your voice, is guiding you through every decision, every moment
and every challenge that comes with the holidays. It may be drowned out by holiday parties, shopping, over extending, financial worries, exhaustion and more. It will speak to you when you are brushing your teeth, sipping your morning coffee, taking the kids to school or folding the laundry.
It is insidious. It is ever-present. It is powerful.
And you ignore it.
That is why it is so disheartening to know that 9 times out of 10 you will not accept its counsel or benefit from its wisdom. And the funny part about it is, it's not hiding in your stocking, or a holiday bonus envelope, yet you continue to complain that it is elusive.
It is your inner guidance letting you know EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THROUGH THE DAY with energy and vitality. It is the voice that is asking you to rest, slow down, release your perfectionism. It is the one friend you might find who actually listens to you and waits to hear your response. Yet you ignore its message.
This year, consider that voice the purveyor of all things worth listening to: slow down, let go and allow yourself to enjoy your imperfection. It's all part of being human.
